He led Pacific with 116.0 innings pitched, eight victories, 18 starts and two complete games. Luke was the only Tiger to record a complete game shutout last season as he defeated UC Davis, 1-0, on May 27. Massetti finished the season with an 8-6 record and 4.50 ERA. Following the season, Luke earned All-Big West Honorable Mention. Luke was a two-time Big West Pitcher of the Week last season and closed the season with back-to-back complete game victories. During his final two outings, Massetti allowed just one run on six hits in 18 innings. Massetti defeated Sacramento State on May 20, 4-1, limiting the Hornets to just three hits in nine innings. Massetti had one of his best outings as a Tiger as he allowed just one run in eight innings to lift Pacific to a 5-1 win over No. 9 Long Beach State on Apr. 22. For his efforts, Luke was named the Big West Pitcher of the Week for Apr. 25-May 2. Luke tossed eight innings of six-hit, two-run ball against Cal on Mar. 15, but the Tigers' offense could not come through for him as he lost 2-0. He also tallied up a career-high eight strikeouts in the outing. In his first four decisions as a Tiger, Luke was 4-0, defeating San Francisco, UC Davis, Nevada and Cal. Massetti tossed eight innings of dominant one run baseball on Mar. 5 as the Tigers defeated San Francisco 2-1. Luke had his third consecutive quality start, while ringing up win number three, when he pitched six innings of one-run ball, leading Pacific to a 2-1 win over UC Davis on Feb. 13. He picked up his second win by pitching six innings of two-run ball, allowing eight hits and striking out one. Luke started his Pacific career on a high note, leading the Tigers to a season opening 5-4 win over Cal on Feb. 2. He cruised through six innings of two-hit ball, while shutting out the Golden Bear attack.<b>Junior College:</b><p>As a Modesto JC Pirate, Luke had a combined 18-3 record with one save. In 2004, he finished the season with a 2.19 ERA, allowing just 16 earned runs in 65.2 innings. As a freshman, his numbers were even better, posting a 1.90 ERA as he broke the school record for wins with 12. Following the 2003 season, Luke was named a First Team All-American, while he earned Second Team All-American honors in 2004. Massetti also excelled in the classroom at Modesto JC, earning three President's academic awards.<b>High School:</b><p>Massetti graduated from Johansen High School in Modesto, Calif. in 2001. Following his senior season, Luke was named to the All-CCC (Central California Conference) First Team.<b>Personal:</b><p>Luke Massetti is the son of Frank and Diane Massetti.
